Gnistan organises individual training for motivated players during the winter season 2024–2025 as follows:
Individual training at Skills schools will continue on Thursdays, 16:45–18:00, at Pallomylly (Taitokoulu) and Mustapekka Areena (Kykykoulu) starting from 7 November 2024.
During this season, both groups will have a strong focus on individual training using various 1-on-1 situations. The coaches focus on developing the players’ individual skills by improving their technical skills and decision-making. The goal of Gnistan’s player development is to produce players who have the courage to resolve in-game situations using their individual skills in a way that contributes to the team's success. Individual training makes it easy for the players to transfer these attributes to in-game situations at the level of team tactics and according to the game plan.
This season, the primary responsibility for the planning and implementation of individual training and coaching in the skills school will lie with Jesse Pekkonen and Mohaiman “Muhis” Abdilamir.
Jesse has worked as a full-time football coach since 2015. He holds a UEFA-B licence and a vocational qualification as a sports instructor. Jesse is a coach with strong pedagogical skills. Jesse’s main goal is to develop talented individuals and prepare them for competition.
Muhis has worked in coaching at the child and youth levels for over 10 years. In addition to holding a C licence from the Football Association of Finland, he has a vocational qualification in children's coaching. "My strengths as a coach are working with different kinds of people, taking different individuals into consideration and making the players inspired to pursue their sport. In small group coaching, it is important to take into account the differences between individuals, both in the practice activities and in giving feedback. This way, we can provide each participant with the right level of challenge."
The Skills school will be organised for players on the girls' and boys' 2013–2015 competitive teams. (Girls 2013–2015: participants will be invited separately by the coach). The club's own coaches serve as the skills coaches.
